For 2015 May 7 is the National Day of Prayer. The first Thursday of May is designated as the annual National Day of Prayer. This year’s theme is 1 Kings 8:28
“Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day.”
Today, like never before, we need to pray to God, Our Father, in the name of His Beloved, Son Jesus Christ. We must pray without ceasing to Him by having a prayer in our hearts at all times. We must utter a sincere prayer of gratitude and pleading each morning, noon, and at night. We depend upon Him for all our blessings. The world and society have and are turning away from God and God is not pleased; hence, famine, war, pestilence, anger, division, lovers of sin more than lovers of God.
In today’s world we are living in the perfect fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy recorded in Isaiah 5:20-21
20 ¶Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
May we “trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
